I think the main advantage (maybe the only advantage) of being a young mom is the energy you have even after the kids are in bed and the dishes are done. By the time you're 40, you choose between dishes and sleep--and sleep usually wins.
The real payoff is watching the kiddos sleep. I love watching them sleep, especially when I should be sleeping. It's my naughty secret--one of them, anyways!
